It is time for another Chairman’s Corner.

California Equestrian Trails and Land Coalition members have been very busy these past months:

From Marin County (Bills Trail) to San Diego (California Riding and Hiking Trail) CET&LC members have been fighting the actions of State Parks and other government entities in their goal to replace horses with mountain bikes.

From Los Angeles County, and City, where CET&LC members have been fighting to keep the County and City trails safe from outlaw mountain bike groups who are wanting to build illegal ramps and courses on safe trails.

From sending legal letters to State Parks concerning their efforts to have a “Change in Use” on trails that have always been for hiking and equestrian only.

Members have been fighting to make sure that trails in the National Forests will continue to remain open and that maps continue to have “ALL” of the trails on the map.
Members fighting to make sure that “ Monuments” continue to remain open to horses and not become a “wilderness” for just the species.

All member organizations are working in unison to stop cities from taking away “trail heads” that have been part a trail system for decades.

Yes, CET&LC is working.
Yes, CET&LC is making a difference in saving trails.
Yes, CET&LC is now a cohesive California organization that speaks as one for all horse owners and trail users that are members of CET&LC.

Congratulations to ALL of the Members of CET&LC
